Bayley and Sasha Banks were perfect choices for maiden holders of belts they and others had allegedly effectively forced into existence behind the scenes.

Their victory felt like a movement to permanently do right by women's wrestling was still in action, not least with the looming likelihood that WrestleMania 35 was to feature its first ever female main event.

Whilst the latter occurred, it did so after The Boss N Hug Connection were needlessly jobbed out to The IIconics in a reductive move for straps that still had sheen. The magic was almost immediately lost, no matter how powerful it had been on the night itself.
