Ranking EVERY Roman Reigns WWE WrestleMania Main Event From Worst To Best
1. WrestleMania 40 (Roman vs. Cody Rhodes)
Even with the 'ga-ga' and endless stream of run-ins, the WrestleMania 40 'Bloodline Rules' main event has to rank as Roman Reigns’ best performance when closing WWE’s biggest show of the year.
By WWE’s own admission, 'Mania 40 marked the true culmination of Paul 'Triple H' Levesque’s assumption of control over the company’s product (having taken the reins about 21 months prior). This was the true season finale, an ending to the Bloodline saga (despite Paul Heyman insisting it was barely “in the third inning”) and the beginning of Cody Rhodes’ run as WWE’s QB1.
The drama was off the charts. Cody, with a little help from a cast of thousands, vanquished the Bloodline once and for all in an Avengers: Endgame conclusion to this saga. He put Roman down and pinned him in the centre of the ring with the 'Chief's' family laid out and nobody left to save him. It was the feel-good moment that WWE had up to that point struggled to deliver.
In the stadium, fans were on the cusp of coming unhinged. From the moment that first run-in happened, the entire audience was on their feet reacting to everything, right up through Cody finally ending Roman's epic title run and celebrating with everyone.
None of that would've been possible without Reigns doing his part – not just on the night, but in the build-up to that moment. At WrestleMania 40, the 'OTC' finished his own story and delivered one of WWE’s most memorable 'Mania main events in its history.
