A three hour Raw in the halcyon days where such a thing was a novelty, the show was headlined by a World Heavyweight Title change that would prove costly for both combatants.

Defending Champion Batista had only taken the title from Chris Jericho a fortnight earlier, but surrendering it in a steel cage was the least of his concerns just days later when Vince McMahon slapped an ungodly $100,000 fine on 'The Animal' for the use of blood in the battle. Jericho was fined $5,000 alongside referee Mike Chioda and agent Dean Malenko for the infraction, though Batista settled those up too.

Literally evergreen even if their act was less so, D-Generation-X brought passable comedy into their brief angle with upstart tandem The Miz and John Morrison ahead of their inter-brand contest. It could have represented a changing of the guard at the time, with the ECW stars gaining huge attention for their superb 'Dirt Sheet' side project on WWE.com and hilarious promos on the C-show.

It regrettably followed form. Shawn Michaels and Triple H were successful over the duo, though not in a way that left the younger talents notably demeaned. Hunter and 'HBK' could perhaps learn a thing or two from this version of themselves.
