Ranking Every WWE WrestleMania Main Event - From Worst To Best
16. Triple H vs Batista (WrestleMania 21)
Evolution were one of the most dominant stables in WWE history. Triple H, Randy Orton, Ric Flair and Batista dominated the main event scene for much of their time together, with Triple H carrying the WWE title for excruciatingly long stretches of time. After Randy Orton broke from the group to become more than one of Triple H's henchmen, it was time for Batista to have his own breakout moment on the road to WrestleMania 21.
With fans behind Batista in a big way, the dominant powerhouse won the 2005 Royal Rumble, much to the delight of Raw champion, Triple H. Fearing that his stablemate would challenge for his World Heavyweight Championship, Triple H steered Batista towards challenging SmackDown's champion, JBL, including setting up a bogus JBL limousine to try and run Batista over. A contract signing was set for the February 21st episode of Raw, with Triple H and Ric Flair celebrating Batista falling for their plan. As they gave him a thumbs up, Batista had his now infamous "thumbs-up into a thumbs down" moment, and decided it was time for Triple H to face the reality that he was the better man.
With Triple H bloodied from the physical match-up, Batista won the WWE Championship from his mentor with a ring-shaking final Batista Bomb. WrestleMania 21 might have been stolen by the incredible match between Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels, but the night belonged to Batista.
