43. Hulk Hogan vs Sid Justice (WrestleMania 8)

WWE WrestleMania XL Cody Rhodes Roman Reigns

WrestleMania 8 is best known for not booking a match that would have gone down as one of the biggest of all time, more than it is for the subpar match that headlined that year's show. Sid Justice vs Hulk Hogan was chosen to main event the show of shows, as the world scratched its head at such a massive mistake from Vince McMahon.

Hulk Hogan is unquestionably the biggest babyface of the 1980s, with his "say your prayers, eat your vitamins" schtick defining the whole generation. Ric Flair wrote the book on being a great heel, and was finally in the WWE. He had just put in the greatest Royal Rumble performance of all time and held the WWE Championship going into WrestleMania 8. No brainer, right?

Fans were instead robbed of what should have been one of WWE's most defining moments. As is all too often the case in pro wrestling, why this match didnt happen depends on whose lies you listen to. No matter the reason, Hogan defeated Sid via DQ after an interferance from Papa Shango in a woeful main event that nobody ever speaks about. To add further insult, Flair's WWE title match with Randy Savage was a legitimate classic and appeared below Tatanka vs Rick Martel, and Owen Hart vs Skinner on the card. Nice one, Vince.
