Ranking Top 10 WCW Main Eventers In WWE
6. Sting

Well, WWE kind of got Sting right. Maybe after all those years of burying WCW talent they realized that he's the absolute last of the last mainstream guys that they could bring in to get a buzz. Because of that, they actually presented him with a good faith push...again, kind of.
From March 2001 to November of 2014, Sting was not in a major league wrestling promotion. Sure, he spent a lot of time in TNA, but they were only drawing a fraction of what WWE was during even their highest peak. They were clearly never a threat to be the top wrestling promotion in the United States. While most fans had moved on, some still wondered if Sting would ever show up in a WWE ring. Finally, at Survivor Series he appeared and took power away from the evil Authority...for five weeks.
A showdown with HHH and Sting was set for WrestleMania, and the build was largely solid. Unfortunately, Stinger came up on the losing side of the feud for no apparent reason. The next night on Raw he didn't sound very confident about ever wrestling again, despite the fans loudly cheering for a future match with The Undertaker. Had Sting showed up a few years earlier there's no telling how well he would have done in the company. But history shows that since he was a non-McMahon creation, his run probably wouldn't have been all that great.
