Ranking Top 10 WCW Main Eventers In WWE

7. Goldberg

Goldberg and WWE was just a bad fit from the start. For starters, Goldberg never improved as a wrestler during his time in WCW. In his defense, he wasn't asked to put on long matches with top workers there. He was booked to plow through opponents and put them away with devastating finishers. WWE didn't have 90 guys under contract that Goldberg could mow through on a weekly basis. Instead, he had to work with mid-carders like Christian and Chris Jericho in more back-and-forth matches. He also had a part-time schedule before that became more widespread among top wrestlers.

He didn't win over supporters backstage, after quickly getting into a backstage fight with Jericho that he came out of the losing side on. He also didn't look good on air either because of WWE trying to be wacky and put a wig on him his first night on Raw. It wasn't all a failure, as Goldberg did capture the Heavyweight Title and battled HHH for months.

Perhaps the biggest problem was that Goldberg doesn't love wrestling. He hated his time in WWE and wasn't willing to put in the work to improve in the ring, or try to fit in to the WWE culture. On the way out, he battled Brock Lesnar in one of the most hated WrestleMania matches of all-time. While he was greeted with thunderous applause in WCW, he went out in a hail of boos. It was the last we ever saw of him in a major company.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
