Real Reason For Otis' WWE Absence (WWE News)

Otis has been off WWE TV for the past two months.

Having been absent from WWE programming for approaching two months now, there's an update on Otis' current status.

On the back of a WrestleVotes report earlier in the week that Otis was dealing with an injury, Fightful Select notes that, per sources close to the talent himself, the 33-year-old is undergoing arthroscopic elbow surgery to assess the damage. This Fightful update adds that Otis isn't expected to miss too much time, but does highlight how, as with any injury, that all depends on things going smoothly with the recovery process.

Otis last competed on the 5 May episode of WWE Raw, where he lost to Rusev in the Bulgarian Brute's first match since returning to the company. There, Rusev attacked Otis after the bell, which was seemingly done to temporarily write ol' Dozer off TV for a little bit.

While Otis may now find himself on WWE's injured list, one other talent to have recently undergone surgery is Liv Morgan.

Of course, Liv suffered a freak shoulder dislocation in a Raw match against Kairi Sane earlier this month, with Morgan potentially not being cleared to return to the ring until the end of the year or possibly even early 2026. Liv's road to recovery is now in full swing, though, as Champion Sports Medicine physical therapist Kevin Wilk took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal that he's helping the New Jersey native with her recovery, and that she recently underwent surgery with the famed Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama.
