Randy Orton was revealed as the next in line to challenge Roman Reigns for his Undisputed WWE Universal Title on the latest episode of SmackDown.

A program-long angle saw Randy weigh up whether to stay put on Raw or pursue fresh interests on SmackDown. In the end, Orton inked a deal with Nick Aldis and decided to go after The Bloodline. Rather definitively, Randy told Bloodline members Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa to inform Roman that he's coming for him.

His very words were: 'Daddy's back!".

This will be Orton's first feud since returning in phenomenal physical shape at Survivor Series: WarGames. Fans had been wondering what Triple H and the writers would do with him. Now, everyone has the answers they were looking for - Randy is coming for Roman.

It'll be interesting to see exactly when WWE pulls the trigger on this mega-match though. The company doesn't actually have another main roster PLE locked in on the schedule until Royal Rumble 2024 on 27 January.

Reigns vs. Orton would surely be too tasty for regular TV, so it looks like fans will need to wait until the new year to see it.
