Seth Rollins' 9 WWE Title Defences - From Worst To Best
8. Brock Lesnar - Battleground
When Seth Rollins squared off with John Cena and Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble in a Triple Threat match, the trio delivered a Match of the Year candidate which remains one of 2015's best. Unfortunately, the first singles match between these two - which had been in the works since the night after WrestleMania - was a major let down and didn't do either man any huge favours in the long run. This brief encounter featured a phoned in performance from Lesnar as he delivered Suplex after Suplex to essentially just kill time until The Undertaker made his surprise return. It was that which robbed this one of an ending (it honestly would have been better for Rollins to win via distraction roll up rather than just vanishing from the ring), and these two have yet to have a definitive rematch after what went down at WrestleMania. The highlight in this one was definitely Rollins gaining some brief control with a number of kicks which brought The Beast to his knees and then a series of dives outside the ring. Without an ending though, what should have been a highlight of Rollins' run as WWE World Heavyweight Champion ultimately ended up being one of his most forgettable title defences. Hopefully these two get the chance to do this right next year.
