10 Best Wrestlers Of 2015 (Who Don't Work For WWE)

9. Roderick Strong (ROH/FIP/PWG)

Highlight of the Year: Defeating Jay Lethal to win the ROH Television Championship (October 23). Ring of Honor has long had a reputation for the being the best pure wrestling league in the U.S., and Roderick Strong has been there for nearly all of the company's history. Most impressively, he's gotten better and better over time. "Mr. Ring of Honor" started the year as PWG World Champion, but quickly added the FIP World Championship to his resume. Defending both titles in classic matches (including a highly-acclaimed encounter against Zack Sabre Jr.), Strong got to show off his aggressive, technically-sound style of competition. In his home promotion, Strong emerged as the first challenger to new ROH World Champion Jay Lethal, taking Lethal to the limit in a 60 minute draw. Though Strong was unable to capture the title, he redeemed himself by beating Lethal for his other belt - the ROH Television Championship. That rare loss for Lethal hammered home that the ultra-talented Strong is a perennial force in Ring of Honor.
