10 Best Wrestlers Of 2015 (Who Don't Work For WWE)
5. Minoru Suzuki (Pro Wrestling NOAH)
Highlight of the Year: Defeating Naomichi Marufuji to win the GHC Heavyweight Championship (March 15). The 47-year-old Minoru Suzuki is a true treasure in the world of professional wrestling. Like Brock Lesnar, he was an MMA champion who brings an unparalleled sense of realism and danger to his matches - and like Lesnar, he's skilled enough at pro wrestling to call himself one of the best in the world. Suzuki started the year with a Wrestle Kingdom victory over MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba, but that was it for his New Japan tenure - he (along with his Suzukigun stable) jumped to Pro Wrestling NOAH, invading the organization with extreme hostility. Suzukigun soon captured all of the company's championships, with Suzuki himself winning the GHC Heavyweight Title from Naomichi Marufuji before disrespecting retired legend Kenta Kobashi. Since winning the championship, Suzuki has been indomitable - literally. He hasn't lost a match all year, and he's defended the title against the likes of Marufuji, Yoshihiro Takayama, and Takashi Sugiura. Suzuki is scheduled to defend the belt once more this year - in another battle with Marufuji - and if he makes it through the match, he'll have put a perfect 2015 in the books.
