The Undertaker's 10 Most Notorious Urban Legends

9. He Skips The Hall Of Fame Ceremony By Choice

Story: The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony has been an annual event that takes place the night before WrestleMania. Back in 2004 when they started recognizing the Hall of Fame, they also started to film it and it's been a part of WrestleMania DVDs, TV specials and this past year was shown on WWE Network too. It's a night that is a favorite for a lot of people in wrestling as well as the fans watching at home. What's interesting about the HOF ceremony is that you never see The Undertaker there. During speeches by the inductees, you'll see current stars shown in the crowd as well as legends from the past, but there's no sign of Undertaker. Why isn't he there? It seems weird that he's not in front of the audience to hear these speeches like the rest wrestlers are. Why People Believe It: He's rarely mentioned during Hall of Fame ceremonies and if he is, it's usually in character. Some people believe that he just doesn't want to be there. Should We Believe It: No. It's not something that he skips by choice. Most likely he's in the backstage area for the entire event and simply doesn't come out in front of the audience to protect the gimmick that he has. An exception took place earlier this year when his former manager Paul Bearer was inducted into the Hall of Fame and he went onto the stage to honor him. He didn't say any words. He just saluted a graphic while holding up the urn. It's not like it would be a big deal if he did sit in the crowd with other WWE stars, yet WWE is always so protective of the gimmick that they won't do it. Whenever he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame it will be interesting to see if he's in character for it or if they will let him tear down that wall so to speak.
