TNA’s 2024 Return: 10 Things That MUST Happen
2. Launch With A Motivated CM Punk
Let's examine the Punk point further.
Everyone knows by now how controversial CM's final days in both WWE and AEW were. It'd be foolish to ignore the obvious (that he was the common denominator), but things are rarely one-sided when it comes to wrestling politics or backstage bullsh*t. There is always a chance Punk could put all of that behind him, move on and contribute.
Announcing that he's inked a deal alone would get people talking. That's the impact (ahem) CM Punk's name has on the wrestling community even in 2023. If D'Amore could only get the best version of Phil Brooks, one free of any nonsense, then this TNA revamp would be extra special with his involvement.
WWE doesn't necessarily need Punk going forwards. That's valid. Does TNA? Meh, it's up for debate, but he is a bigger name than anybody else on the active roster right now and would bring those three letters to the lips of a more casual/lapsed fan market.
