Tony Khan On CM Punk/Daniel Bryan To AEW Rumours: "No Comment"
The AEW owner declined to comment on talk link CM Punk and Bryan Danielson to AEW.
All Elite Wrestling owner Tony Khan has refused to comment on speculation linking CM Punk and Daniel Bryan to his promotion.
Interviewed by the New York Post ahead of last night's special Fight for the Fallen episode of Dynamite, Khan said the following when asked if his company had been in contact with "any former WWE champions, one of which likes to drop pipe bombs and the other one is the leader of a movement":-
"I have no comment on those, but those are good questions but I can’t comment on those."
The interviewer then mentioned Punk and Bryan by name, prompting the following from Khan:-
"I can’t comment on those two guys, but I think there are certainly a lot of exciting rumors right now."
Interesting comments, considering AEW loaded up last night's Dynamite with several Punk teases, including Darby Allin referencing "the best in the world," MJF quoting the legendary pipe bomb, and more.
News that both Punk and Bryan were in negotiations with AEW broke last week, with Fightful Select reporting the former and Bodyslam's Cassidy Haynes the latter. Multiple reports have followed since then, and now, with Khan's comments, it would be a bigger shock if they didn't show up.
