Jim Ross won't be appearing at AEW Double or Nothing this weekend following a health scare earlier this week.

On Thursday, the iconic commentator was hospitalised due to shortness of breath. And after throwing out an update on social media showing him in a hospital bed with his family around him, it was later reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that 'Good Ol J.R.' was dealing with a Class A flu and raised heart enzymes, on top of the already noted breathing problems.

Dave Meltzer also wrote that while J.R. was receiving "excellent care" and would expected to be fine in a few days, the legend did explain that he now wouldn't be able to appear on the upcoming Double or Nothing PPV this weekend as originally planned.

The icon has been All Elite since the company was created all the way back in 2019 and signed a new contract with them a few months back. A number of health issues have led to J.R. not appearing on AEW television quite as often as he once did over the last year, though, with the voice of wrestling currently only making PPVs appearances.

Hopefully Ross is feeling a better in no time and is back doing what he does best behind the commentary desk.

Get well soon, J.R.!
