Update On Velveteen Dream's WWE NXT Status

What's going on with Velveteen Dream, who hasn't been on WWE TV since December?

Triple H sounded like he was in no mood to answer questions on Velveteen Dream during yesterday's pre-TakeOver: Vengeance Day media call, but did so anyway, responding to a query on the 25-year-old's WWE status.

"There's really nothing to add with Velveteen Dream," said the NXT chief. "We've gone over it a million times." He added that Dream is still training at the Performance Center and remains part of the NXT roster, though he was dealing with "a bit of a physical thing for a bit."

Dream last appeared on NXT television in a loss to Adam Cole on 23 December 2020. Last year was a tumultuous one for him, as April and June brought allegations of sexual harassment towards minors on social media. First denying the accusations in April, Dream was hit again during the #SpeakingOut movement, when it was alleged he had groomed underage boys and sent an explicit photograph to an underage girl.

Triple H has stood by Dream throughout. Last August, he said that while the allegations had been taken "very seriously," WWE's response saw them "look into it and find that it is what it is and there's nothing there."
