Update On WWE's Plans For Roman Reigns Return
Roman is going to seek redemption. Will fans give it to him?
There has been a ton of speculation on what will happen with Roman Reigns when he returns to action after his 30-day suspension. It sounds like WWE has a plan in place, one they feel will finally help him get over.
Current plans are for Roman to go on a redemption storyline, according to Wade Keller at the Pro Wrestling Torch.
The idea is to make it look like the suspension has got Roman down, and now he has to fight to make it back to the top. And maybe, become even better before the time off. Evidence leads towards this direction with WWE mentioning his suspension on-air, and not shying away from the controversy. Stephanie also called the situation “an embarrassment” which only fuels the fire that Roman is going to have to battle some adversity from The Authority on the way back.
This is bad news for fans who were hoping for a Roman heel turn in the near future. When he does return, the crowd reaction is likely to be devastating. Perhaps by being open about what happened, and letting Roman work his way back up to the main event, fans may finally begin to accept him. That’s the best case scenario. Worst case (or perhaps the most likely case) is that fans will continue to ride Roman until management finally gives up.
It will be interesting to see if Vince can finally turn his struggling superstars' fortune around, but it seems like a long shot at this point.
