While 2020 has been awful for so many reasons, the year could well be looked back in the history books as the year that truly changed pro wrestling for the better.

All Elite Wrestling has now celebrated its one-year anniversary, and there's no doubt that AEW has well and truly changed the landscape of professional wrestling. In terms of pure global reach, brand recognition and financials, WWE is lightyears ahead of AEW, but in terms of an engaging wrestling product that is steadily gaining viewers rather than losing viewers, Tony Khan's burgeoning promotion has had a stellar 2020.

From here on out, AEW has all of the foundations in place to go from strength to strength, and hopefully that can light a fire under WWE that sees McMahon's sports entertainment behemoth question its own product, its own creative, and seriously analyse why WWE has spent the past several years plummeting from record low rating to record low rating.
