2. Shawn Michaels Sends Marty Jannetty Through The Barber Shop Window (Jan 11, 1992)
Every wrestling fan knows this one. The Rockers tag team comprised of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty were having problems, so they went on the Brutus Beefcake's "Barber Shop" talk show segment to work it all out. Michaels ended up saying everything was fine with them, but he didn't mean it. As the two of them were posing together, Michaels brought Jannetty in close and gave him a Superkick. If it ended there then it's just another heel turn. It wouldn't be as memorable as it was. The reason it became such a big deal is because Michaels threw Jannetty through the glass Barber Shop window. It was a big deal. We don't see stuff like that all the time, so when Marty went crashing through it people were screaming as they saw it. To be a holy sh*t moment, you have to make people react in a big way and get them to marvel at something special happening. A guy throwing another man into a glass window is not something you see all the time especially on a wrestling show. It was filmed perfectly. The announcers reacted the right way. Michaels showed no remorse. He was his own man from that point forward. It was an iconic moment for a guy that would go call himself an icon while poor Mr. Jannetty never really recovered from the ending of the Rockers.
