WWE: 10 Reasons Randy Orton Was The Right Choice To Unify Titles

9. WWE Did What's Best For Business

Randy Orton Orton winning the unified titles really was best for business - fans pay to watch heels lose. With Orton on top, the WWE can market their events as heat filled shows in which fans will pay to watch the fiendish Orton finally get caught out. It is a selling dynamic that works much better than having a face on top. Fans aren't as interested to see a good guy defend a title, they prefer to watch the struggle of the hero in laying claim to the title. The likes of Daniel Bryan are better placed as up and coming rather than being the now. When good guys are on top it isn't long before people want to see them ripped down in this business. Randy can handle his position on top. He has been here so many times before that his 2014 run will seem second nature to him. WWE clearly have immense faith in his ability to wrestle matches and work segments. There is every reason to believe that Orton can maintain his current impressive status right throughout 2014. He is right back up there with Cena, Punk and Bryan as the biggest selling points of the entire WWE.
