WWE: 10 Reasons Seth Rollins Heel Turn Was A Mistake

6. The Shield Themselves Could've Made Rollins A Heel By Kicking Out Reigns (Like The Horsemen Kicked Out Sting)

On February 6, 1990, The Four Horsemen participated (as it seems they often did) in one of the best pro wrestling angles of all time. In mirroring said angle, The Shield could have turned heel and made a new babyface star in the exact same night. In 1989, Sting joined a babyface Four Horsemen unit of Flair, Ole and Arn Anderson. Flair was the World Heavyweight champion, with Sting rapidly ascending as a potential Heavyweight championship contender. When Sting won the "Iron Man" Tournament at Starrcade '89, he became the new #1 contender for his Horsemen stable-mate's championship, and on 2/6/90, was beaten up and dismissed from the group at Clash of the Champions X. Ideally, there's the concept of Roman Reigns doing something major like winning the Money in the Bank Briefcase, and then both he and Seth Rollins do the elimination tie at the Royal Rumble. This would then allow for the idea of Reigns to not want to simply relinquish the Rumble crown to Rollins, which could cause Rollins and Ambrose to snap and beat down Reigns. Ambrose and Rollins as a bad ass heel duo leaving Reigns to eventually become champion certainly is a more compelling story (online at least) than what has just transpired.
