WWE: 10 Superstars You Will Be Surprised Are 10 Year Company Veterans

1. The Miz

How depressing is this one? Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin is a 10 year WWE veteran who has been with the company none stop since debuting as part of Smackdown's Tough Enough in 2004. WWE took a liking to him straight away. He couldn't wrestle at all, but he oozed charisma and knew how to work the entertainment side due to his experience on MTV's 'The Real World'. The WWE sent the enthusiastic would be wrestler to Deep South Wrestling and OVW, before having him debut back on TV as The Miz in 2006. Right away it stood out how annoying he was. Mostly working in mic segments, the enthusiastic wrestler was a cheesy act who tried too hard. Fans didn't like him. It only got worse when he started wrestling regularly, displaying horrendous understanding of ring psychology. Nevertheless, WWE loved him. Mizanin was willing to do whatever it took to please the boss, and regularly took on a large amount of media and promotional work. As such, he became a genuinely valuable act to the company. The wrestling however was abysmal. He had some success with a tag title run carried by John Morrison, but no one perceived Miz as future WWE Champion. Except Vince McMahon that is. Shockingly in 201o, Miz was pushed as the biggest heel in the business, trading off the real life hatred of Mizanin. Despite still being a terrible wrestler, Miz won the WWE title and held it for several months. He even retained at Wrestlemania, beating John Cena in 2011. CM Punk almost quit over that, disgusted that such a little talented worker could be given the prime spot in the industry. In an admission of how poor Miz actually is, Vince McMahon relegated him back to the midcard soon after €” and in recent times Miz has barely managed to make the pre show of major events. So there it is. The Miz, a ten year WWE veteran who won the Championship and beat John Cena clean in a show closing Wrestlemania match. You would never have believed it but the guy really has made it somehow.
