WWE: 12 Matches That Were Booked All Wrong

12. Triple H Vs Booker T, Wrestlemania 19

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGsHZqdMk2s Could Booker T have been a viable babyface Champion in WWE? I'm not so sure but we will never really know because WWE killed him in the spring of 2003. The former WCW star was invested in a program with Triple H, with Booker cast in the role of the overlooked contender against the arrogant heel. The obvious resolution in this story is the underdog proves his worth and Hunter's cocky attitude proves costly. But what actually happened was Hunter beat Booker clean at Wrestlemania 19, essentially proving that he was right in his mic segment assertions that Booker wasn't good enough. This type of booking was counter productive in many aspects. The win did nothing for The Game because he has spent the whole feud saying Booker was inferior anyway. As for the former WCW Champion, the clean loss killed any momentum he had in WWE. Hunter had said he wasn't good enough, and the result had basically proven that. Worse still, the storyline had some racist connotations attached, Hunter saying that Booker's "kind" aren't good enough to be in the ring with him. All this should have set up the hero proving the bully wrong, but instead we got a technical wrestling match in which Triple H was the better man. Basically WWE should have booked the whole story differently if the plan was for Booker T to lose all along, and the match should have been far more of a fight as Booker defended his honour. There was the one awesome spot with Booker doing a top rope leg flip at least.
