11. The Great American Bash
The Good: Not a monumental PPV, by any means, The Great American Bash 2007 was a decent show overall. The highlight of the card (notoriously one of WWE's worst of the year) was John Cena's WWE Title defence against Bobby Lashley in the show-closer. Big Match John overcame the massively muscular Lashley with a top rope FU following fifteen minutes of good babyface on babyface action. Starting the show, MVP and Matt Hardy - two of the highlights of the year - had a really good US Title match. MVP was getting better with every match and Hardy was on a roll, too. Matt's brother Jeff was also having a great year between the ropes and his spirited performance in his IC Title match with Umaga only added to his reputation and increased his popularity. CM Punk versus Johnny Ni - sorry, John Morrison - was better than the previous month (although still not a classic or anything). Ditto Candice Michelle versus Melina. The Bad: Cruiserweight Champion Hornswoggle. Next. Carlito versus Sandman. Next. Dusty Rhodes versus Randy Orton. Next. The Great Khali versus Kane and Batista. Moving on... The Rest: The first PPV of the post-Benoit era, WWE did their best to try and take fans' minds off the tragedy and the resulting madness by entertaining them.
