WWE's Top 10 Biggest Signings Of 2017
6. Pete Dunne
WWE's Cruiserweight Classic in the summer of 2016 was such a success (with many of the participants being signed to contracts) that it was unknown how the WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament at the onset of 2017 would measure up.
That onncern turned out to be unfounded when the tourney exceeded expectations and featured some of the most exhilarating action we've seen all year in WWE. Among the standouts was Pete Dunne, who easily had the most compelling character of anyone who took part in the title tournament.
He wasn't able to clinch the championship the first time around, though he did knock off Tyler Bate for the belt in a rematch at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, a bout that is widely considered a contender for WWE's Match of the Year. That kicked off what has been a remarkable reign for Dunne that has seen him clash with the likes of Mark Andrews, Wolfgang, and most recently Johnny Gargano.
The fact he made his Raw debut before any of the other U.K. wrestlers is a sign officials have high hopes for him moving forward. Forget the rumored U.K. show; Dunne should be a regular on Raw right now.
