7. Randy Orton

Randy Orton and The Rock have a lot in common if you look at their careers. Both guys are third generation who were the "chosen one" from the time they got into the business. Once Rock committed to wrestling full time, WWE tried to push him right away. It didn't work immediately, but he was WWE Champion at age 26. The same can be said for Orton, who became a World Champion when he was 24. They have a bit of history too. They were a part of an underrated tag match at WrestleMania 20 when Rock teamed up with Mick Foley to take on Orton along with his Evolution buddies Ric Flair and Batista. Orton got the win over Foley there, but if you watch his interaction with Rock you could see they had chemistry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2jhsj9LQVo Since Rock would wrestle the match as a babyface, it makes more sense to put him up against a heel. Orton's one of the most credible heels that WWE has with 12 combined WWE World Title reigns and whether people like him or not, the guy has been a solid performer for more than a decade. Orton may not be the first choice for a Rock opponent, but he's a very solid and safe choice that would do his part to put on an entertaining match with The Rock.
