WWE: 9 Awesome Tag Teams That Never Won The Belts

6. Fabulous Rougeau Brothers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSBZqo-YatI Made up of real-life brothers Jacques and Raymond Rougeau, the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers had been teaming for years before they were brought into the WWF in the mid 1980s. In fact, their feud with Ron and Terry Garvin drew a huge 20,000 fans to the Montreal Forum during this time. The Rougeaus were brought into the World Wrestling Federation as your standard, squeaky clean babyface tag team. They actually "won" the WWF tag titles at a house show in 1987 when they challenged the Hart Foundation at a house show in Montreal. Jimmy Hart had attempted to use his megaphone for evil purposes but the Rougeaus intercepted the foreign object and used it to beat the Hart Foundation and send the Canadians audience into a frenzy. However, this decision was later overturned and the WWF does not recognize the title change. While their babyface run might have been decent, it was once the Rougeaus turned heel that they found their niche. The Hart Foundation had recently turned babyface and had dumped Jimmy Hart as manager. The Rougeaus quickly hired him and Hart rewarded the brothers by giving them the money he was still making from the Hart Foundation. That wasn't even the best part though, as the Rougeaus started to proclaim themselves "All American Boys" and used a theme song of the same name. In the theme song, the Rougeaus sang about their love of Barry Manilow music and preppy haircuts. It was completely ridiculous and over the top but it was also catchy and funny. They insisted that ring announcers announce them "from Montreal, Canada but soon to relocate to Memphis, Tennessee" and waved little American flags to show their newly found American pride. After a successful feud with the Rockers and a real-life fight with the British Bulldogs, the Rougeaus split when Raymond was forced to retire due to a back injury. Jacques would go on to moderate success after being repackaged as the Mountie. He is also one of the rare men to score a pinfall victory over Hulk Hogan when he pinned the legend in a match in Montreal in the late 1990s. However, the fact that the Rougeaus didn't win tag gold still confuses some fans to this day.
