WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Dec 13)

6. Ascension Squashed

A few weeks ago, The Ascension showed up in NXT to take on Chad Gable and Jason Jordan. It was a decent match, but more importantly, the wastelanders were over. The crowd popped to see them, and reacted to all of their spots. Sure, the crowd at Full Sail are more excitable than the ones at your average Raw, but in the past they had been given a reason to care about the Ascension. Viktor and Konnor have never been afforded that opportunity on the main roster. The duo has won one match on TV in the past three months. Shortly after their debut, they were jobbed out a number of times, then briefly, kind of, sort of, paired with Stardust, and then given up on again. It€™s not the greatest crime in the company, but it€™s kind of silly that Ryback had to beat them both, by himself, to be ready for a match with Rusev. Why couldn€™t he have just beat one of them in a squash? That way they save a little face as a duo, and Ryback still looks strong. Well, Jerry Lawler tried to put them over before the match, despite them booked as perennial losers by saying Ryback isn€™t going to fight just €œany two guys.€ I guess he€™s right, because any two regular guys probably could have lasted longer than they did.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
