Survivor Series was one of the biggest matches in WWE history...or so the company told us many times before it aired. The ramifications of the match were supposed to be huge, earth shattering if you will. The company would never be the same...until five weeks later that is. The next month at TLC, we had John Cena and Seth Rollins battling it out in a tables match. If Cena lost, hed lose his No. 1 contender opportunity. He won, but then Rollins was added to the title match anyway. When The Authority came back, Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan were all fired. Three weeks later they were all back. Last week Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble. Not so fast! Hes gotta defend that win first! Okay, so even if he does win, who's to say Hunter and Steph wouldnt make him fight 10 more times just because? Yes, like thousands (millions?) of fans, I wasnt thrilled that Roman won the Rumble. But Im even less thrilled that no stipulations are sticking these days. It makes it harder to invest in the storylines when they are more likely than not to be reversed.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
