WWE Backlash 2018: 10 Things That Must Happen

7. Jeff Hardy Remains United States Champ

Randy Orton doesn't need another run as United States Champion. His win earlier this year only existed so he could become a Grand Slam Champ anyway, and this match against Jeff Hardy at Backlash has the air of an exhibition showcase about it.

On the latest SmackDown, both men admitted they don't have an issue with one another. Thrilling.

That renders the title match pretty pointless, and it screams 'mid card attraction' that can fill out time between the matches people really care about. It's also a thinly-veiled excuse to get Hardy and Orton on the show without having to write a proper feud or turn either man heel.

A win over Randy would establish Jeff as the titleholder to beat, and it'd give someone like Andrade Almas (who is surely a safe bet for the belt sometime this Summer) reason to brag once he beats Hardy down the road.
