WWE Backlash 2026: 10 Things That NEED To Happen

1. Randy Orton Is Revealed As Fatu’s Attacker

Well, it turns out that Drew McIntyre was correct all along.

Way back on the 17 October 2025 edition of SmackDown, it seemed like Drew had ambushed WWE Title contendership rival Jacob Fatu to muscle him out of the picture. Fatu took some time away to fix some injuries/dental issues, and he didn't return until January. By then, he was firmly entrenched in a blood feud with McIntyre, but also suspected that Cody Rhodes might've had something to do with his attack.

At Backlash, Randy Orton can appear out of nowhere (how fitting) to RKO Jacob and maybe even punt him in the skull. Then, on TV afterwards, the full story will come out. Orton had actually been "a bad, bad man" for a long time. Meanwhile, Cody can be even more fired up that his so-called friend kept that quiet whilst Fatu pursued him and Drew with revenge on his mind.

A smirk would cross 'The Viper's' face. Why would he care? He only fancied causing some chaos and then sitting back and watching others squirm. Beating Randy in a series of hard-hitting matches would be a nice way for Jacob to bounce back after losing this title showing vs. Roman.

It'd also give Orton something meaningful to do as a heel, and could lead to him being properly booed by fans for the first time in a long time.
