WWE Battleground: 10 Facts You Didn't Know

2. John Cena Is The Man

Contrary to what Seth Rollins may think, when it comes to who has the best record at Battleground, John Cena is indeed the man.

Admittedly he’s only made two appearances at the show, in 2014 and 2015. But in his Battleground debut he was successful in defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and then the following year he overcame the challenge of Kevin Owens to retain the United States Championship.

Plenty of others have tasted victory at the event but, by my calculations, no other man can claim to have been in multiple matches at Battleground and won on every occasion.

Over in the women’s division, AJ Lee can also say she won her multiple Battleground matches, but unlike Cena; she’s not a man, so the catchphrase doesn’t really work... She’s also no longer with the company and so there’s no chance of her record being ended or extended at this year’s PPV.

For Cena, on the other hand, he has a chance to make it 3-0 when he teams with Enzo Amore and Big Cass to take on AJ Styles and his Club.
