WWE Battleground 2016: 10 Things You Probably Missed

Those hoping for a Brock Lesnar invasion of The Highlight Reel at Battleground were being just a little bit too eager. Naturally, Lesnar was nowhere to be found, and the entire segment revolved around Chris Jericho's probing of Randy Orton, eventually leading to an RKO (out of nowhere, fittingly) for his troubles.

The whole thing felt a little like a let down, chiefly because it's not like WWE can even feud Orton and Jericho in the interim. They're on different brands, and the same can be said for Orton and Lesnar. Few would have missed Randy's reference to Brock's ongoing substance allegations though.

If that was easy to spot, a little more hidden was Orton's reference to Jericho's match at WrestleMania 29. Talking about why he's going after someone like Brock Lesnar upon his return, Randy said that it was better than gunning for a performer lower down the scale like Fandango.

This was designed to get a reaction from the live crowd, and it did, but some probably didn't get that Orton was talking about the 2013 match between Y2J and the dancing character.
