WWE Fastlane 2016: 10 Things That Must Happen Tonight

5. Kalisto Defends The United States Title

There's a sense of 'seen this all before' with Kalisto vs. Alberto Del Rio, probably because the pair have locked horns a number of times on both television and pay-per-view over the past few months. Fastlane represents the next chapter of their rivalry, but does it make sense to take the United States Title away from the masked man at this point? If WWE did decide to have Del Rio win the match, there would be a sense that the past few months have been utterly pointless. The company really need to decide whether or not they are serious about pushing Kalisto in a featured spot, or if he's simply a fluke champion just keeping the belt warm. To present him that way undoes all the good work the company did with the US Title in 2015. At Fastlane, it'd be nice to see him manage to defend the championship against Del Rio in their 2 Out Of 3 Falls encounter. Unfortunately, this perhaps once again makes the League Of Nations look like bumbling fools, but that's an experiment WWE appear to have given up on anyway. Kalisto needs perseverance, rather than just fading away upon dropping the title.
