WWE Gallery: 15 Most Famous Beards In Wrestling
Sweet chin musings on World Beard Day.
Just over a month ago, when looking at some of wrestling's greatest proponents of the mustache, beard-buffs were promised they'd have their bristle-bleaching day in the sun.
And today's the day. To what end it isn't clear, but 2 September marks World Beard Day. It's the one point in the calendar when proud pogonotrophists should stroke their stubble with affection, showing gratitude for their ability to grow a mouth muzzle. But spare a thought for those who can't, forced to go through life nude-chinned (although saving a canny fortune on razors).
The word 'grizzly' was coined for wrestling, and you can bet the industry's seen more than its fair-share of beardy blokes. Most have sported standard facial hair, but a select few have took things a step further when decorating their jaw.
These are the most vaunted Vandykes in wrestling, worth celebrating on this special day.
15. Million Dollar Man
Premium quality, hipster targeted shaving products don't come cheap. £90 for a razor? During a recession? It's no wonder unkempt beards came back into fashion. Ted DiBiase didn't have such problems though, and used his millions to manscape his muzzle mane. An opulent effort.
