WWE Glasgow Live Review - 10 Interesting Observations You Need To Know
6. WWE Need To Stop Having Stars Shill The WWE Network During Promos
The idea behind it is sound, but by having stars repeatedly mention that fans can check something out on the WWE Network, promos come across as entirely scripted and not very natural. Even young children pick up on this, as one nearby small girl could be heard remarking that, 'the WWE Network is free for new subscribers in April, we get it already'. When kids are starting to tire of such promotional methods, you know there's a problem there. Again, nobody should have an issue with WWE wanting to promote their subscription-based vehicle, but there are other ways to do this. Surely the ring announcer would be the first port of call, rather than having the likes of Stardust casually slip it into his promo. WWE even have their big screen prevalent at many house shows, one fully capable of showing information related to upcoming events, the WWE Network and other information which - let's be honest - just doesn't fit into the context of a wrestling promo. Imagine 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin pausing back in the day to let fans know that foam fingers were on sale at the merchandise stand? It simply wouldn't happen.
