WWE Glasgow Live Review - 10 Interesting Observations You Need To Know
5. Cody Rhodes Teased That The Royal Rumble Was Coming To Glasgow
A far more effective use of heel mic time is having them pull the wool over everyone's eyes like this. As Stardust, Cody Rhodes delightfully informed everyone that WWE's UK Twitter page spilled the beans on a truly massive announcement, the 2016 Royal Rumble was to be held at The Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland next January! Incredibly, a lot of people were suckered in by this. In fairness to those folks, the SSE Hydro has a capacity of around 13,000, and would look the part on television. This has been evidenced by the times TNA has taped TV at the venue, and that wasn't even full capacity. WWE's superior production team would be able to make the arena look fantastic for a big event. With that in mind, it was all a ruse anyway. Stardust quickly retracted his statement, saying WWE would never choose to hold the Rumble in such a horrible city. It was cheap heat for sure, but it worked a treat! In reality, WWE could hold a Pay-Per-View in the UK again, mainly due to the WWE Network, but surely they'd pick a big arena in London or Manchester, possibly even attempting to sell out a big outdoor stadium.
