WWE Greatest Royal Rumble Wrestlers - Where Are They Now?

Then: The fact that both Ascension members Viktor and Konnor got just over 3 minutes combined in the GRR speaks volumes about where both were in 2018. That topic must've come up mid-flight as they took a plane to Jeddah for the show. It simply must have. Not a chance this tag-team could be happy with how things were going on the WWE roster at the time.

Konnor went a measly 2 minutes and 25 seconds before being bounced out of there by apparent elimination machine Elias. He'd limp on until late-2019 when it was announced that The Ascension had been let go by management. Truthfully, they hadn't been doing much of note for years before being cast out.

The Greatest Royal Rumble was another miserable date Konnor just had to see out.

Now: As referenced in Viktor's entry, both Ascension members raked in a bit of coin on the independent scene by using their collective name value hanging over from the WWE run. No, they hadn't been a featured act on Raw or SmackDown (or even NXT for that matter), but they were former WWE superstars, and that carried some weight with indie promoters keen to please their smaller audiences.

Konnor then shortened his name to Big Kon and had a spell in TNA/Impact Wrestling. It came to an end in early-2025, and he's only taken a couple of independent dates since. Who knows if The Ascension will ever come up in WWE circles again? It doesn't seem very likely, does it?

They were on the outskirts for a while before being released.
