With WWE Speed on the way, that new video series will bring with it its own championship belt.

As part of the announcement video that WWE Speed will premiere on X on 3 April, it was revealed that there will be a tournament to crown the first-ever WWE Speed Champion.

As mentioned by Corey Graves in the above clip, WWE Speed is an X-exclusive video series featuring matches with a time limit of just three minutes. WWE has been taping Speed matches before Raw and SmackDown tapings in recent weeks, meaning they already have several contests in the bag and ready to debut on X next month.

Somewhat interestingly, WWE Speed was originally slated to consist of five-minute matches. For whatever reason, that has now been cut down to three minutes, with the emphasis being on throwing everything at an opponent in order to get the job done in that extremely short time.
