WWE Night Of Champions 2025: 8 Things That Must Happen

3. Seth Rollins Screws CM Punk Over

This bit of booking might be viewed as far too predictable, but Seth Rollins cashing in MITB to become brand new WWE Champ is a possibility. Failing that, and if WWE fancies keeping the briefcase where it is for now (which they should), he can simply stop CM Punk from winning the title himself to play more mind games.

Also, get Punk vs. Bron Breakker in the ring on the back end of that for a good time, creative. You know you want to. Spear vs. GTS - let's do this. That's the kind of sugary sweet byproduct that'd come from persisting with Punk and Rollins being mortal enemies for life. Punk tangling with Bronson Reed sounds like a fun way to spend a Monday night too, but that Breakker bout is tantalising.

One question should make the writing team's mind up for them. Why wouldn't Seth go out of his way to scupper CM's title chances against John Cena? Like, it's Cena, but smart heels don't take any chances when they've got weapons like Breakker and Reed by their side. Causing chaos and throwing a spanner into the works of Punk's title hopes is the kind of cruel and vindictive thing modern-day heel Rollins would do too.

It'd give Paul Heyman a voice-cracking giggle and make sure that one of Seth's biggest rivals couldn't lord it over him with the top title in the land. Attention has turned from World Title to WWE Title for Rollins since Gunther won the former strap back from Jey Uso, but that doesn't mean he needs to cash-in pronto.

The 'Visionary' can make everyone sweat.
