That particular promo between Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon was pre-taped, happening earlier in the day. The pair nonetheless opened Raw live in the ring, welcoming Kevin Owens out to properly celebrate his WWE Universal Title victory last week. It would have been easy for KO to act gushing, but he's a proper heel.

Villainous to the end, he even refused a handshake from Foley upon entering the ring. Instead of greeting his General Manager, KO stormed right past him and posed on the middle rope as he marvelled at the balloons and fireworks that were all for him. It's little touches like this that make Owens such an effective character.

Fans do cheer for him, but he stays true to the personality of his character. That can't always be easy, especially because everyone has that natural need to be loved or to make people laugh. On this occasion, Owens just decided he wouldn't normally embrace Mick, so why change things now?

The announcers didn't even acknowledge what had happened, and the camera angle changed quickly. It was easily missed.
