WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (May 9)
1. On Second Thought, Maybe Enzo Will Be Okay
The main event of Raw was scheduled to be Big Cass versus Chris Jericho, but when Jericho came out onto the entranceway with his flashing jacket, he was assaulted. The lights were still out so it was hard to tell exactly what was happening, but someone wearing the jacket made his way to the ring. When the lights came back on, the aggressor was revealed as Dean Ambrose.
Ambrose proceeded, much to Jericho's chagrin, to tear the jacket open and rip out the wiring inside. As Y2J screamed that the jacket cost $15,000, Ambrose completely destroyed it, stomping on the circuit board and cutting the leather in half.
Lost in the shuffle was Big Cass, who stood outside the ring as this went on. He did throw Jericho in the ring at one point, allowing Dean Ambrose to hit Y2J with the Dirty Deeds, but he certainly wasn't being treated like a future superstar. Given that he called the Raw main event the biggest match of his career earlier in the evening, the fact that it didn't happen was even more curious.
The good news is that maybe Enzo will be just fine. He'll recover, re-join Cass, and the two can continue to do their thing in the tag team division.
