The company were keen to produce a mistake-free SmackDown when taping on Tuesday.

Fightful Select's Patreon are reporting that WWE reshot several spots before airing last night's Christmas special edition of SmackDown on FOX.

The company had taped the show on Tuesday night so that talent and staff could enjoy the holiday festivities with their families at home come Friday.

Of note, Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso was stopped because WWE wanted Daniel to sell the latter's pre-match attack more than he was. Fans tuning in via the usual ThunderDome screens were 'put on a commercial break' whilst Uso and Bryan refilmed that short portion of their match.

Meanwhile, the announcers harped on about how vicious Jey's ambush had been.

There was another bit of editing to do during the Women's Tag-Team Title segment - this one didn't take up quite as much time. Sasha Banks had dropped her SmackDown Women's Title belt during her entrance, and WWE wanted her to redo the routine.

So, Banks marched backstage and had a second go at strolling to the ring as Snoop Dogg blared in the background.

Both edits were logical, and WWE had the rare luxury of taking their time because SmackDown was taped in advance.
