WWE Royal Rumble 2020: 10 Surprise Entrants We Could See

1. CM Punk

They all come back in the end. Everyone. Even the Ultimate Warrior, despite years of insane d*ckheadery - from multiple earned WWE firings to his blatant and outright homophobia - made his way back onto WWE television before his passing. It's just what happens in this business, and the posturing CM Punk may prove himself the exception, but it seems unlikely. He claimed he'd be opening to working directly with the promotion in that Starrcast interview, remember.

That's the argument for CM Punk appearing in this year's Royal Rumble. It's a thin one, admittedly, but it's not impossible. How can anyone call it impossible?

That "his contract is with FOX, not WWE" loses weight as he's still a talking head on a gentle WWE-sponsored chat show. Punk is back in Vince McMahon's sphere. Yes, he has his principles, but Vince has mountains of cash. It's perfectly conceivable that the Chairman would throw an Everest-sized pile of the green stuff at the former 'Voice of the Voiceless' to not only brow the roof off the building at the Rumble, but re-capture the wrestling zeitgeist in the process.
