There isn't much that Daniel Bryan hasn't achieved in WWE, and most of those accomplishments have come in the face of adversity. The historic Royal Rumble is one of the only carrots that still dangle in front of his face then. 2021 should be the year he reaches out, grabs the thing and takes a mighty bite out of it.

If Edge's window of opportunity is closing, then Bryan's is eerily close to slamming shut. He's already spoken about life post-WWE, and might not be a full-timer for much longer at all. It'd be a fitting end to his story if he ticked the Rumble off his career bucket list on Sunday and then moved on to become Roman Reigns' next challenger for 'Mania 37.

That match carries weight. Edge can always resurface and continue his part-time comeback tour with a title bout later on, but Bryan needs this now. He's deserved a Rumble win for over a decade anyway, and is the ideal foil for Reigns.
