WWE Royal Rumble: Best Performances From Every Entry Slot
16. Randy Orton - 2007
In 2007, Randy Orton out-performed every No. 16 entrant that came before him, and every one that has followed, by finishing fourth. The Legend Killer was outlasted by just Edge, Shawn Michaels, and the No. 30 entrant and eventual winner, The Undertaker.
At the time, Randy Orton was one half of the World Tag Team Champions, and upon entering the ring immediately started working together with his partner, Edge, eliminating Super Crazy in no time. Soon after, Matt Hardy was put over the top rope by Orton, while Jeff was eliminated by Edge. This was the last man Orton would throw over the ropes before his own elimination.
After knocking The Undertaker to the ground with a Spear and a chair shot, Orton and Edge took too long setting up a con-chair-to, allowing Shawn Michaels to re-enter the ring to eliminate both Orton, then Edge.
Orton's fourth place finish represented, not only the best by any No. 16 entrant, but also the second year in a row he placed in the top four, after finishing second to Rey Mysterio in 2006.
