8. Apollo Crews Pulls A Fast One On The Miz

Unfortunately, the creative team have treated The Miz vs. Apollo Crews as complete filler on the SummerSlam card. On SmackDown, the match wasn't even hyped live. In fact, WWE relegated Apollo laying out Miz to the commercial break, something that shows just how much of an afterthought this feud is in the eyes of management.

A Miz victory is virtually assured, but not guaranteed. The WWE Intercontinental Title is fine around Miz's waist, but that doesn't mean the company won't pen a surprise for SummerSlam. Truthfully, Crews bagging any title right now would be quite the eye-opener.

Thus far, Apollo hasn't been helped by limp writing. His character is paper-thin, and there's little reason to get excited for his title challenge. That said, minds should be cast back to Night Of Champions 2008, when a random win for Kofi Kingston took the Intercontinental Title from Chris Jericho.

A roll up or small package pin could be the route to success for Apollo Crews. Admittedly, the task of convincing everyone that Crews wasn't a fluke champion would then begin, but it's possible.
