WWE SummerSlam 2016: 7 Reasons Dolph Ziggler Should Win WWE Title
4. A New Main Event Star
Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have dominated the main event scene in WWE for the last two years. While all three are superb workers and deserve everything they have gotten to this point, it is time for fresh blood at the top of the card.
Fans of Raw have seen that progression with Finn Balor rising to the top of the card instantly. AJ Styles has also flirted with the top of the card. Imagine what it would do to break up the monotony if Ziggler could explode through the glass ceiling and finally take his place atop the WWE mountain.
The presence of credible main event talents was what helped WWE surpass WCW in the Monday Night War. Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, The Undertaker, Kane and Triple H were all Superstars that could conceivably headline a pay-per-view and be taken seriously in that role.
WWE does not have an abundance of quality main event talent as it it. Splitting it among two rosters lessens that number significantly. Both Raw and SmackDown need to have their rosters bolstered by main event talent that can carry the show if someone goes down with injury, thus a Ziggler push and championship victory makes even more sense.
