
It was one of the better promoted WWE events of 2013, but high expectations can be a curse in the wrestling business. The December TLC 2013 pay per view failed to live up to what it could have been. Granted, WWE delivered on the "historic" moment of unifying the championships - but it just didn't seem to have the feel of prestige it should have had. The undercard was even more flawed. It started to a good standard, and the Houston crowd was hot. However as the event moved on the fans lost steam as matches failed to live up to being special attractions. It was all a bit ordinary. There was some good wrestling in the case of The Shield v Punk, Wyatt family v Bryan and the tag titles match - but it never really excited to a memorable standard. This was all stuff we see every week on Raw. There were no major surprises or unforgettable spots. The main event was a good stunt filled encounter. I was entertained for the most part, it wasn't like Survivor Series where the Orton vs Big Show main event was an endurance. Despite this it was ultimately an underwhelming show, it wasn't the monumental epic it promised to be ... here we look at 7 reasons WWE TLC failed to live up to the hype -
